Corporate Responsibility

Now and then you may have come across an ad showcasing a company that’s received a corporate citizenship award. But how can you know if these awards are legitimate, and how they may be relevant to you as a consumer and homeowner? A&A Services Home Improvement, a top window replacement contractor in the state, elaborates below.

Not All Awards Come From Reputable Organizations

First off, any reputable organization that hands out corporate citizenship awards should publish the criteria they use to determine the recipients of the award. After all, customers don’t want to be misled by deceptive ads. A lack of transparency about said criteria is a big red flag.

Take. for example, Corporate Responsibility Magazine. which publishes a list of the 100 Best Corporate Citizens. Included in its criteria are employee relations and the company’s impact on stakeholders and society.

Employee Relations

When you consider awards such as these, there’s one thing in particular that needs to be present—any criterion related to how the company treats its employees. After all, if you encounter any problems with a product, employees will be the ones handling your concerns. This means there’s a strong chance that how employees are treated will affect the quality of the products the company produces. While it’s true that most manufacturing processes have been automated, keep in mind that the handling of these products, from the packaging all the way down to their delivery. is still done by regular workers. Disgruntled employees are less likely to handle packages with care, for example. and may even end up damaging them.

If you happen to be looking for a window replacement or new roof, you’ll be glad to know that Owens Corning® ranked first on Corporate Responsibility Magazine’s list of the 100 Best Corporate Citizens.
