House Renovation

According to the most recent Houzz Renovation Barometer, the second quarter of 2015 saw an increase in consumer confidence in the building and renovation segment of the industry. Now—it seems—is the best time to get some home improvement done. But should you simply “go with the flow” because it’s there or is there a practical application for these statistics? A&A Services takes a look at what all the hubbub means for you.

The Factors

The Houzz study, focused on “confidence”, might seem somewhat vague at first sight, but it’s actually based off responses to surveys on three levels: the number of inquiries, the number of new projects, and the scale of said projects. So figures for people asking about roofing in Peabody, MA were counted, as well as figures for inquiries that became full-fledged projects. The sizes of the projects were also considered whether they were simple repair jobs or complete replacement.

For Massachusetts, the study for Q2 2015 registered a score of 81; a considerable increase over the previous quarter’s score of 54. This represents a sharp upsurge in actual engagement between customers and the company.

The Practical Relevance

If more people are getting work done on their Peabody roofing this quarter, does that mean you should too? Technically it would depend, but the truth is, it would be a good idea to “go for it”, as it were. With the increase in the number of people getting work done around their homes, the companies that cater to these needs are likely to see a lot more competition than they would have just a few months ago—S&P’s Home Improvement Retail Index certainly registered the rise of stock values for several home improvement companies.

With this increased competition comes the need for companies like A&A Services to step up and stand out among the crowd.
