Slider Window

We’re reporting from Marblehead, MA. Here we are on a slider window replacement project, and this project has a high degree of difficultly, this is definitely not a do-it-yourself project. We’re working on some slider windows that are three stories up, we use our pump staging to carry our window up to the third floor. You can see the size of this huge opening, it’s a very big window. We took out a bay window, but what we’re going to be installing what’s called a picture/slider window, you can see where the ballister system is up there, the opening was actually an old patio door that just had a gate in front of it and went to nowhere. We took out the patio door and built a new frame, and from a rough standpoint, the opening for the window was getting very old.

The finished work for the slider looks beautiful, it came out really nice. This slider window is a vinyl product, that has simulated divided light. After some final caulking and tuning you would never know the window we were installing was once a big door opening. We tied it all in and stuccoed it. We tied in the siding on the outside, you would again never know there was a door there.
