Double Glazed Window

How is the thinnest portion of your home protected from the elements? Double paned windows provide a valuable layer of protection against the elements. Laminated glass is something different.

Laminated glass has nothing to do with energy, but is used for armored glass and other safety type applications. Between the layers of double glazed glass is an argon gas that helps block the energy from escaping the home, thereby making the home more energy efficient. Compared to single paned windows, they can offer tremendous energy savings.

The diagram on the right shows how double glazed windows work. Stop by Wilmington, MA on Feburary 8th-10th, 2013 to check out all the windows on display (including A&A Services’ Windows) at the Shriner’s Auditorium!

Hundreds of booths occupied by some of the best businesses in Boston and elsewhere will be presenting product demos and informative information throughout the show and admission and parking is free.

Double Glazed WindowIn addition to the energy savings, double glazed windows also tighten up the home as far as sound is concerned, providing a quieter experience when the windows are closed.

Some companies such as Sunrise Window even have triple pane windows; some of the most energy efficient windows for any home. We (the authors of this blog) have been installing windows for over 30 years.

We have installed many brands over the years, but we have shifted to Sunrise because they’re the best windows we’ve ever used. To the left is an example of our work. Again, meet us at the Shriner’s auditorium on Feb. 8th-10th 2013! We can answer any questions you may have about the windows in your home.
